St Louis Chamber Chorus premieres new work based on friendship theme

On 30 September, the St Louis Chamber Chorus and conductor Philip Barnes will perform the world premiere of Ēriks’ new work On Friendship, a setting of words by Khalil Gibran from the 1923 prose poem collection The Prophet.

The work for double choir a cappella will be performed as part of the opening concert of the choir’s 2018–19 season. The concert is the first in the series States of Being, which reflects on experiences that are quintessentially human. Ēriks will attend the premiere performance at Christ Church Cathedral in St Louis, MO.

Listen to Ēriks and Philip Barnes in conversation with St Louis Public Radio host Don Marsh talking about the commission and working process.
