On 3 May, Ēriks was bestowed Officer in the Order of the Three Stars, the highest state decoration in his home country Latvia, for merits in the field of culture, diverse and creative contributions to Latvian music, and for promoting it around the world. He received his medal of honour from the hands of the President of Latvia Mr Raimonds Vējonis at the annual award ceremony at Riga Castle.
Established in 1924, the Order is awarded to individuals, both Latvians and foreigners, for their meritorious service to Latvia in areas such as government, military, culture, education, science, and sports.
