During their ten-day tour of Ireland and Scotland, the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, Texas will be performing the European premiere of Mass of the Eternal Flame. The choir will be singing Ēriks’ new mass in Christ Church, Dublin on Sunday 23 July and in St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh on Sunday 30 July.
Scored for choir, brass and organ, Mass of the Eternal Flame was written in honour of Robert L. Simpson’s 25th anniversary as Canon for Music of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, Texas. It was premiered in Christ Church Cathedral late February, with Ēriks in attendance.
